Back to Brightside
Yesterday (20th June) Jason was invited back to his old primary school, Brightside, where he was asked to take an assembly for the children.
He started off explaining the basics of the sport but then went into the different aspects of what goes into the sport as well as answering lots of their questions – of which there was lots.
What was really staggering was the amount of children that had heard of or knew of and even been to a speedway meeting in the past. Once the assembly had finished some of the children stayed behind for some photos with Jason, then each class went back to their rooms respectively, where their teachers put on some videos of speedway from YouTube.
The enthusiasm from the pupils of the school was remarkable and some of their faces when Jason said, “and the bike have NO BRAKES!” was priceless. But overall the assembly was a success and just introducing the children to the sport – new, young faces can only do the sport in general success.
We would just like to finish by thanking Brightsides’ headteacher, Mr Bulpett and Mrs Sell for arranging it all and letting Jason promote himself and the sport, which hopefully will inspire some of them to pursue what their dreams.
Thank You Brightside!
