Nice 3rd Place

A level playing field, where the indervidual’s ability is the only limiting factor is every sports dream – Last night (11th July) over on the Isle if Wight this idea in particular was successfully demonstrated.

Every rider in the lineup was to ballot for their engine, which would then be bolted in to each riders own frames. The engines themselves were 2 valve Jawa’s supplied by the Polish company Nice and maintained by Jawa.

The Isle of Wight promotion put very good lineup featuring the likes of Steve Worrall, Paul Starke as well as other international riders and of course Jason.

A practice session took place an hour before the first race where it was essential to find out how the power and handling of the bike was.

Jason leading Isle of Wight number 1 Georgie Wood

A good start to the meeting for Jason as he won his first ride and later ended on 7 points to comfortably make the semi finals with 2nd pick. A good start in that saw him collect second place behind Championship rider Paul Starke.

The lineup for the final was:

Tomek Orwat – POL

Jason Edwards – GBR

Steve Worrall – GBR

Paul Starke -GBR

The final was a tough race, but Jason managed to slot into 3rd and stay there for the 4 laps to take his place on the podium.

So all in all a very successful meeting and we would just like to thank all of the Isle of Wight promotion, Jawa motorcycles and Nice.
