Success on the Island
Any meeting is a good meeting at the start of the season. Bike time is important but race time is essential. A late call up Wednesday evening saw Jason get his first official meeting under his belt at the Isle of Wight and what better way to do so than winning. The format exactly the same as the 12- man under 21 semi-final taking place at Somerset on Good Friday (19th April) was a good bit of practice, but as it turned out, it was a very worthwhile trip.
Jason opened up with a win in his first ride and only dropped one point through the heats. Next was the semi, which was safely navigated, then the final. Winner takes all. Jason sat in second for the first 3 laps until a mistake by Ben Morley allowed Jason to take the win. So that was that, the first meeting out the way and winner of the Vince Mapley Memorial on the Isle of Wight.
